- Pace bowlers Poppy Tulloch and Daisy Gibb both sign for Hampshire having graduated from the Academy
- Tulloch played in the 2024 school games where she took four wickets and scored 49 runs
- Gibb claimed ten wickets for the Academy and eight wickets for the Vipers Second XI in 2024
Academy fast bowlers Poppy Tulloch and Daisy Gibb join Hampshire for 2025, as both players are awarded their first professional contracts.
The pace duo impressed in developmental cricket in 2024, as Gibb claimed 18 wickets for the Academy and Vipers 2nd XI whilst Tulloch claimed 25.
Impressive performances from Berkshire seamer Tulloch saw her named in Southern Vipers 1st XI squads across the season, with her first call-up coming ahead of their clash with South East Stars at Falkland CC in Newbury.

Adam Carty, Regional Director of Women’s Cricket, added: “Poppy has seen a dramatic rise in status over the past 24 months having spent only one seasonal cycle on both the regional emerging player programme and Academy, before gaining pro-rookie status. This rise has been born out of her tenacity, ambition, and obvious talent.
“She has demonstrated the ability to bowl right arm seam in really good areas and is clearly a fast learner. We are also pretty excited about her being a potential point of difference with the bat in due course such is the power she clearly possesses.”
Tulloch also impressed in the School Games, where she claimed four wickets – including that of Ireland international Amy Hunter – and scored 49 runs, which included 41* off 22 balls, with three fours and two sixes, against Ireland U19s.
Daisy Gibb is another right arm pace bowler, with a penchant for swinging the ball. She claimed three wickets at the Regional Academy Festival at Oakham in 2024 as the Vipers made it to the final of the competition. She took seven further wickets for the Academy with a best of 2-19 coming against The Blaze in a 125-run victory at Basingstoke.
Adam Carty added: “Daisy is a worthy recipient of a rookie pro contract. She had a very progressive 2024 and proved to be effective leading the seam attack for the Second XI.
“We are comfortable in the knowledge that her best ball does get good batters out, and such is the increased contact time she is receiving as a professional cricketer, her second and third skills are showing genuine gains across a relatively short period. Daisy is clearly embracing her opportunity and we feel she has a high ceiling.”
In 2023, Gibb was selected in England’s XI to take part in the European Cricket Championship in Malaga, Spain. She picked up five wickets in as many games in the competition, with a best of 2-10 coming against the Netherlands.
