Wasps head north to face Sale Sharks

Sale Away, Sale Away, Sale Away – Wasps Women head north into shark infested waters for Round 15 of Allianz Premier 15s to face Sale Sharks.

Last weekend’s close encounter against Bristol Bears came down to a two point difference with just one try a piece- Bristol clenching the win with a successful conversion. However, it was Wasps who stole the show in their last meeting with Sale Sharks with tries from Heather Kerr, Lucy Nye and Sam Monaghan leading Wasps to a 22-8 victory.

This weekend Giselle Mather and her squad will be looking for another successful Shark Hunt in order to secure the five points needed to push them up the table.

There are three changes to the starting line up this week with Lucy Nye moving in to start at scrum half. Kerr also returns to the starting line up as tight head and Maud moving over to her opposite side as loose head.

Claire Molloy will captain the side from the back of the scrum in no. 7 shirt with Chris Balogun on her opposite side and Rowena Burnfield behind her.

“We hope to continue to build on our strong defensive performance from last weekend and take this weeks hard work in training onto the field to be more effective in attack.”

Claire Molloy, Captain

Nye moves off the bench to start at scrum half this week with Meg Jones outside her at 10. And, the remainder of the back line stays the same.

On the bench both Elizabeth Crake and Morgan Ransley return from injury to join the match day squad as forwards replacements.

Whilst there is no live stream this weekend, the match action can be followed on twitter and social media from 14:00pm. Please note also the change in venue to Chester RUFC due to adverse pitch conditions at The CorpAcq Stadium.
