A Second Successful Shark Hunt for Wasps

  • +1

Wasps come out on top in a try-mendous display of Rugby against DMP Durham Sharks scoring a total of 11 tries and denying Sharks of any points.

It was the Captain, Burnfield, who led the way with a runaway try in the first 10 minutes which set the ball rolling for Wasps. Minutes later, Boatman snuck in with her first of the game and Williams put Wasps up by 14 points in the first 11 minutes of play.

Boatman went on to score not only a hat-trick but five tries in total on her return to the squad from GB Sevens- each with a stunning finish!

Also returning from the GB Sevens set up was Burton, who secured a five pointer of her own from a driving maul, also making a huge impact in defense keeping Sharks well out of our waters.

Milestones were met when Molloy ran in two tries for the black and gold side bringing her points total to 50 in a Wasps shirt. The first breaking off from a maul to dive over and the second out on the wing to sprint to the line.

Moloney and Muir added their weight to the scoreboard with tries of their own. Moloney’s try set up by a snipe from the scrumhalf, Wong, setting her up to take it over. And it was Balogun who made her return to the pack who broke away to set Muir up for another beauty.

A fantastic win for Wasps and a great way to draw things to a close before a break for Christmas. Wasps will be back in action on 27th December at Twickenham to play Harlequins in Big Game 13.
