Finger on the Pulse – Where does Welsh Rugby go now?

  • +1

News breaks that Rachel Taylor, once briefly assistant coach to Wales women, has been appointed as Performance Coach at Sale Sharks. There she will assist Katy Daley-Mclean in continuing Sharks’ advance, begun last year.

This is merely the latest item of unwelcome news for the Principality. It’s impossible to find any findings of the enquiry into the whole structure of women’s rugby there; it was due at the end of last June.

Suffice it to say that the official Wales rugby website still presents Warren Abrahams as the Head Coach.

In a year’s time the elite squad will be travelling to New Zealand to compete in the World Cup. You could imagine the players reckoning they would do a better job themselves of providing the necessary support.

How ironic that one of Sharks’ tags is #Fabric of the North. It’s the fabric of the Principality that causes the greatest concern.
