Harlequins Women are delighted to announce that England international Lagi Tuima has re-signed for the Club ahead of the 2021/22 Allianz Premier 15s season.
The 23-year-old centre was a mainstay in the Quins backline throughout the Club’s title winning season, featuring 14 times in the Famous Quarters.
It was a final to remember for Tuima as the Red Rose scored all 15 points from the kicking tee, securing Harlequins their first Premier 15s title.
After putting pen to paper, Tuima said: “I’m beyond delighted to re-sign with Quins and can’t wait to start the season already. We’re building something really special here and much like everyone else at the Club I’m happy to be a part of it.
“The coaching staff played a massive role in our success last season, so I look forward to evolving our game further as well as having the licence to play some exciting rugby with a group of exciting players!”
Head Coach Gerard Mullen is thrilled to have the centre re-sign as the new season is now only weeks away.
Mullen said: “I think Lagi has grown so much as a player over the last 12 months. I have really enjoyed working with her and seeing her game develop each week. Everyone saw how integral she was towards the end of last season especially in the semi-final and final.
“Lagi will continue to grow and I strongly believe we can develop her into one of the world’s best and keep helping her push for that World Cup spot with England later this year. I have no doubt she will play a major part in helping Quins bring more silverware to South West London.”
