Harlequins Women have announced that front row Chloe Edwards and flanker Lauren Brooks have re-signed with the Club ahead of the 2021/22 Allianz Premier 15s season.

Edwards, who has played 67 times in the Famous Quarters, is excited to re-sign with the Club and is full of praise for the squad who are aiming to win back-to-back Allianz Premier 15s titles.

After putting pen to paper, Edwards said: “I am delighted to have re-signed with Quins for a sixth season. A key component to my desire to stay are the players. We have a really strong bond as a playing group, with a tremendous amount of talent and an endless supply of personalities in the squad. Additionally, we are supported by a coaching staff who are keen to push us to evolve our game and use these individual talents and our creativity to develop an exciting brand of rugby.

“I have loved every opportunity to represent the Quarters so far and can’t wait to start building on last year’s successes!”

Young flanker Lauren Brooks has had a breakthrough year in South West London, featuring 12 times for the Club during the 2020/21 season.

Upon re-signing, Brooks said: “I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to re-sign with Harlequins Women again this season. Quins is a great Club, and they are always looking to improve and develop their players, both on and off the pitch. I can’t wait to get back into training with the girls and work on my game further throughout the season.”

Head Coach Gerard Mullen added: “I’m delighted that Chloe Edwards has re-signed with the Club. She is an experienced front row who has played for the Red Roses and I’m glad she will still be around as we look to defend our Premier 15s title.

“Lauren was fantastic throughout our title winning campaign. She worked extremely hard all season long and was a key player towards the end of the season starting in both the semi-final and final. Lauren is somebody who will continue to grow as a player, and I can’t wait to keep working with her ahead of the new season.”
