Harlequins Women are delighted to announce the signing of second row Rosie Galligan from Saracens Women ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Galligan, who made her full international debut for England in 2019, has been a mainstay in the Saracens squad for a number of seasons, winning the Premier 15s title twice.

The 23-year-old lock also featured for Saracens in the 2020/21 final which saw Quins bring the Allianz Premier 15s title back to South West London.

Speaking after the move was confirmed, Galligan said: “I’m really excited to be joining Harlequins Women. It’s a new challenge for me and a chance to play with some extremely talented players. I’ve had really positive conversations with Gerard about pushing me to my limits this year and I can’t wait to get going.

“This season my main aim is to firstly have a great season with Quins, but I’d love to be back playing with England and to put myself in the best possible place to be in contention for next year’s World Cup squad.

“To be able to play with players such as Jess Breach, Sarah Beckett and Ellie Green who are all lifelong friends and amazing players is something I can’t wait for.”

Head Coach Gerard Mullen added: “Rosie is somebody who we can’t wait to welcome to Quins! She is a young, ambitious and powerful second row. She has the ability to provide great leadership skills around the set piece and will fit in perfectly with the culture we have at Harlequins.

“I’m confident that the support we can provide her here at Harlequins will develop her into a very good England international and we will see her wearing the Red Rose for many years to come.”
