  • +1

Durham Women FC have announced that Beth Hepple will remain with the club until 2023.

Having been with the Wildcats since a young age, Hepple has become a key part of the first-team squad – and was our top scorer during the record-breaking 2020/21 campaign.

With 11 goals and a number of assists to her name, the 24-year-old again caught the eye and was named as the FA Women’s Championship player of the month for October.

Hepple was also named as the North East Football Writers’ player of the year for a second time during the early months of 2021.

The attacking midfielder is the club’s record appearance holder having hit the 150-game mark during the most recent season, and is now looking forward to adding to that tally in the 2021/22 campaign.

Commenting on her new contract, Hepple said: “I’m over the moon to be staying.

“It’s such an exciting time to be a Durham player and I can’t wait for pre season to begin. I think we have a very strong group which I fully believe in, and we really want to progress from last season and go one better.

“It will be incredible to have our fans back again too, as last season was just not the same without them.”

Manager Lee Sanders added: “Beth has been possibly the best attacking and creative player in the league over the last few years.

“She’s part of the fabric of Durham and it’s superb she has committed her immediate future to the club.”
