England Women won the first ODI of their tour of New Zealand by eight wickets. There were fifties for Tammy Beaumont (71) – awarded Player of the Match – and captain Heather Knight (67*).
The wickets were shared around, with seven bowlers each claiming a scalp, but it was Tash Farrant – making her first ODI appearance in just over seven years – who returned the best figures, with 2-31.
The second ODI will be played in Dunedin on Friday, 11am (10pm GMT, Thursday).
