Harlequins confirm USA international Kristine Sommer has left the Club to re-join USA Rugby’s World Cup preparation camps
On her return home, Sommer said: “I’m extremely grateful that to have had another opportunity to play for Quins this season, to further develop my skills and get some games in.
“I took the difficult decision to opt-out and return home to train within the USA Rugby bubble for the proposed World Cup programme. I look forward to representing my country once again.”
Harlequins Women Head Coach Gerard Mullen said: “Kristine has been an exemplary part of our squad on and off the field since joining mid-season, fast re-establishing herself as a valued member of the team.
“While we are sad to see her leave, I know I speak for everyone at the Club in wishing her the absolute best for the future. We look forward to watching her pull on her national jersey once more and supporting her from afar.”
