Wasps head West for rescheduled Bristol fixture

  • +1

There’s no rest for the wicked as the saying goes! Whilst the rest of the Allianz competition takes a break in play, Wasps take to the road to play their rescheduled fixture versus Bristol Bears. Following last week’s exciting win over Worcester Warriors- the team head into this weekend positive, refuelled and excited to take to the field.

With 5 Wasps players in the England squad facing Italy in the revised Women’s Six Nations game, there are some changes to the black and gold lineup, but with huge depth in her squad – Mather has named a cracker of a team to take West.

Starting with the forwards Evans joins Muir and West in the starting front row, with debutants from last week, Burnfield and Monaghan making up the second. The powerhouse trio of Crake, Kabeya and Burton complete your pack.

A new starting 9,10 duo lead the backs as Wong returns to the starting line up to join Jones. Williams makes her debut and joins Captain Alder in the centres. Mason and Quansah are joined by another Wasps debut for Boatman on the wing to complete the starting line up.

We are delighted to see McMahon return from injury and add to what is a very experienced set of finishers- Ransley, Afilaka, and Caux for the forwards with Rowland, Williams and Nye set to add fire to the backs!

“I’m really looking forward to running out with this squad – we have some exciting new caps in Ellie Boatman and Carys Williams and I can’t wait to see what they bring to the field. We’ve taken lots of positives from our win last week and we are hoping to build on those tomorrow against what we know is a strong Bristol side. ”

Sammy Wong, No 9.
