England Sevens star Beth Wilcock signs for Harlequins Women ahead of the 2020/21 Premier 15s season

Harlequins Women have further bolstered their options in the backline with the signing of former England Sevens back Beth Wilcock, returning to Harlequins having enjoyed a stint with the Club before linking up with the Sevens programme.

Wilcock made her first Sevens appearance for England in June 2019 at the World Series in Biarritz, having first joined the international setup after impressing in the 15-player code for the England U20s side at the Tri-Nations Cup.

Commenting on her return to the Club, Wilcock said: “I’m really excited to be able to re-join Quins, my elite level rugby started in this jersey, so it’s a bit like a homecoming for me.

Harlequins helped me develop my skills and build me be up as a player before I joined the Sevens squad, so I feel like, even though I am joining the squad as a new player, the Club has strong roots in my rugby journey. It is a great feeling to be back.

“I’m looking forward to playing in the Premier 15s with a fast, entertaining brand of rugby we’re learning and working hard to play under our new Head Coach, Gerard Mullen.”

Speaking following Wilcock’s arrival, Mullen said: “Beth is a player who has massive potential. She possesses great speed, power and is very physical. I look forward to continuing to work with her on her game and transition back into the 15-a-side game. If Beth keeps working hard, she has the ability to represent England and make an impact on the world stage.”
