Wasps Ladies turn up the heat to secure win against DMP Sharks

  • +1

Following the narrow defeat to Gloucester Hartpury, Wasps FC Ladies returned to Twyford avenue with a strong performance against DMP Sharks, redeeming themselves with a 29-14 bonus point win.

Wasps Ladies started the game strongly with Katie Mason (sponsored by Lions Academy) putting the first points on the board, shortly followed by another from Harriet Millar Mills who has come back on fire following her recovery from a major knee injury in 2017.

DMP Sharks fought hard to stay in the game and quickly returned fire with a try from Heather Kerr. But looking to keep the scores apart, Wasps turned up the pressure with Hannah West (sponsored by Budgy Smuggler) taking the ball over the line to leave the half time score at 19-7.

Looking to maintain the pace from the first half, Wasps opened with a try for Abby Dow converted by Hannah Edwards (sponsored by CH Rugby Sports Management). DMP sharks came close to retaliation, but Wasps’ defence put a stop to that turning over ball on their own try line and widened the gap once again with another from Dow on the wing.

Fighting strong till the end, Heather Kerr sealed another for the visitors in the final 4 minutes of play, but it’s not enough.

A good day at the office for Wasps Ladies who secured their second victory of the tournament and end round three sitting in 3rd below Saracens and Harlequins.
