Injured Natasha Hunt out of Super Series

England Women head coach Simon Middleton has added Harlequins Ladies scrum half Lucy Packer to the squad for the Women’s Rugby Super Series as Natasha Hunt has been ruled out for the remaining games.

Gloucester-Hartpury Women scrum half Hunt suffered a concussion in a training session and will now return to England.

Packer joined Harlequins at the start of the 2018/19 season and has been a regular throughout the campaign including being part of the squad for the Tyrrells Premier 15s final against Saracens Women.

The 19-year-old has previously been part of the Wales Sevens programme and will now be available for the final two games of the Super Series against France and New Zealand.

‘Obviously losing a player of Natasha’s quality, experience and leadership is a huge blow for the squad but as a group we understand that this is the nature of what we do, and the only thing that truly matters is that we do what is best for Natasha under these circumstances,” said Middleton.

“Lucy trained with us prior to us leaving for San Diego and left us in no doubt whatsoever that we can be totally confident in her addition to the squad.”
