RPA Awards 2019: England Player Of The Year Nominees

The Rugby Players Association (RPA) has today announced the nominees for the O2 England Women’s Player of the Year and the England Women’s 7s Player of the Year. 

Both awards will be presented at the RPA Awards 2019 on Wednesday 8th May at the home of English rugby, Twickenham Stadium.

The O2 England Women’s Player of the Year

The O2 England Women’s Player of the Year Award is presented to the outstanding England Women’s player from the 2018-19 season, as voted by the England Women’s Elite Playing Squad.

Nominees: Sarah Bern, Katy Daley-Mclean and Sarah McKenna

Sarah Bern: “I am overwhelmed to be nominated for this huge award. I have always felt the most important recognition you can ever have is from your teammates and to have them support me in this way is both incredible and unbelievable.”

Katy Daley-Mclean: “To be nominated by your peers in any sport is special, but for me personally to be recognised by my England teammates means so much more. I feel exceptionally proud to wear the red rose and my teammates are the people I respect the most, therefore I must thank them for their amazing support”

Sarah McKenna: “To be nominated by teammates is the ultimate compliment a player can receive. I was delighted when I received the news, I didn’t expect the recognition and I am proud and humbled by the support from my team.”
