Nic Smith joins 100 club as Wasps face Gloucester-Hartpury

Wasps travel to Gloucester-Hartpury for the penultimate fixture of the development league season. They will look to keep pressure on the league leaders as they sit one point behind them in second place in the table.

Last week Wasps produced a fantastic display against a strong Loughborough Lightning side, scoring five tries on the way to a 33-27 victory.

Wasps have made seven changes to the starting line up from their win last weekend. Rose Dixon starts at fullback after captaining the Navy side earlier this week, and Katie Mason (Sponsored by Lions Sports Academy & Snap Sponsorship) moves into the centre.

In the back row Nic Smith, who will be marking a fantastic achievement in earning her 100th appearance in black and gold, is joined by Megan Horwood (Sponsored by Newbury Self Store) and captain Izzy Fisher (Sponsored by Sterling Property Ventures Ltd).

Also celebrating a milestone, Alex Powell will mark her 50th appearance for Wasps, joined by 100 club member Kasey Allen in the second row.

Up front Daniker Willmore starts at hooker, with Kany Adefemiwa-afilaka and Mica Evans either side of her.

There is also a potential debut for the newest Wasp, Brandi Akpobome, who is named among the replacements.

Gloucester-Hartpury are in fifth position in the development league, with eight wins and seven losses this season. They have proved a real danger in their previous two fixtures. Having won 38-14 at Darlington Mowden Park Sharks, they then shocked Harlequins last weekend with a 29-19 victory.

Wasps are in second place following a fantastic season in the development league, having lost just two fixtures all season. Alongside the positive results, they have also scored some incredible tries throughout the season. With just one point separating them and Saracens at the top of the table, they will want to take maximum points to capitalise on any mistakes from the leaders.
