The Vitality Roses narrowly beat the She Cranes 52-49 on their journey to gold with the African champions finishing in an impressive sixth place in their debut Games.
Following her selection for the squad, Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Serena Guthrie, said: “I think it’s going to be a really exciting series, Uganda are a really good up and coming African team and it’s going to be interesting to have them over for the three-match series. I’m excited to play as well in front of a home crowd as it’s been a while since we’ve been in front of our fans, so I’m hoping we’re going to have a big crowd there to support us.
“It’s one series I’ve really been looking forward to and been wanting to be picked for as it’s great to play in front of our home crowd.”
Ama Agbeze, was not available for selection due to an injury sustained to her knee in the Jamaica Sunshine Series.
