Richmond Look To Bounce Back In Coventry

  • +1

As Wasps look to break the record for attendance at a women’s top flight game tomorrow, Richmond head to the Ricoh looking to cause an upset in the 5.45pm game.

After a disappointing 15-7 defeat to DMP Sharks last weekend, Richmond know they need to bounce back well, and rediscover the form that saw them put a big score on Worcester, and push champions Saracens all the way a few weeks ago.

Head coach Jonathan Griffin has changed things up a bit in his side for the game, with a few players getting their first start in what will be a tough game against Wasps. The front row remains unchanged, while the second row sees Fiona McIntosh, fresh from training with England u20s, get her first start alongside England international Row Burnfield. In the back row, youngster Cerys Lawrence gets her first start at seven, with Libby Povey and Becky Ball completing a strong ball-carrying unit.

The international duo of Welsh nine Jade Knight and English ten Abi Chamberlain continue at half backs, while it’s Jade Wong and captain Vicki Jackson in the centres. The back three remain unchanged, with Jess Wooden making her second start at full back, and strong finishers Emelie Hellgren and Rachel Laqeretabua on the wings.
