Jess Wooden’s arrival boosts Richmond

  • +1

Following a week of rest, Richmond are chomping at the bit to get back into Tyrrell’s Premier 15s action, with a long trip to DMP Sharks the perfect chance to put another win on the board. After taking a 12-5 lead into the break against champions Saracens in the last round, before eventually being overcome late on, Richmond have shown they are a side to be feared in the league, and know that minor changes are all that is needed to turn performances into more victories.

Minor changes is the name of the game when it comes to the line-up as well, with just three changes to the starting side who impressed last time out. Grace Moore and Tess Braunerova both step up, in place of Claire Phelps and Jade Knight respectively – with Libby Povey moving over to the number eight spot where she has impressed tis season – while there is a first start for new arrival Jess Wooden.

The American has made the move from Harlequins, and should bring a wealth of experience to a back line that is looking full of potential at the moment. Vicki Jackson at 13 takes the captaincy this week in a Richmond side that will be hoping for the weather to hold in order to fully employ their running rugby style, and get a second win of the season on the board.
