Tyrrell’s Premier 15s Round Eleven

Darlington Mowden Park Sharks and Richmond were left frustrated by the cold weather, with their game postponed but there was no shortage of tries in the rest of the Tyrrell’s Premier 15s.

Saracens maintained their perfect record, Harlequins are hot on their heels, while Wasps and Bristol also recorded victories.

Loughborough Lightning 7 – 34 Saracens Women

England’s Marlie Packer scored two tries as Saracens beat Loughborough Lightning 32-7 to maintain their 100 per cent record.

Hannah Botterman went over early with Cara Wardle soon following her as Zoe Harrison spotted space behind the Loughborough Lightning defence and threaded a delicate kick through for the centre to collect.

Packer added a third with fellow Red Rose Lotte Clapp securing the bonus point for the league leaders prior to half time and Poppy Cleall extended the advantage further.

Natasha Jones slid under the posts for a consolation score for Lightning but it was Packer who would have the final say as she broke the line for her second score.

Firwood Waterloo Ladies 12 -51 Harlequins Ladies

Harlequins Ladies kept the pressure on Saracens Women with a 51-12 victory over Firwood Waterloo Ladies.

Winger Jess Breach continued her incredible try-scoring form with a hat-trick.

Waterloo had taken the lead through Rebekah Wilson but Quins responded with tries from Holly Myers, Ellie Miles and Breach to lead 15-7 at the break.

Deborah McCormack secured the bonus point before Breach had her second and Brown crossed.

Mhairi Grieve and Breach exchanged scores before Miles was denied her second by a high tackle with the referee awarding a penalty try. Olivia Critchley’s try, converted by Rachael Burford, sealed victory.

Wasps FC 37 – 17 Gloucester Hartpury Women’s RFC

Wasps scored seven tries to secure a 37-17 victory over Gloucester-Hartpury in a hard-fought affair.
Kelly Smith opened the scoring for the visitors but winger Tova Derk showed an incredible burst of pace to get Wasps back into the match and Rocky Clark powered through soon after.

With Gloucester’s Ceri Large in the sin-bin, Amy Cokayne extend the lead to 17-5 going into half-time and Justine Lucas secured the bonus point before Abby Dow touched down.

Hannah Jones managed to reduce the deficit to 27-10 but Justine Lucas and Clark sealed the Wasps victory before a late Bethan Lewis consolation.

Bristol Ladies 89 – 0 Worcester Valkyries

Sydney Gregson, Lillian Stoegar-Goddard and Clara Nielson all scored hat-tricks as Bristol cruised past Worcester Valkyries 89-0 in the late kick-off.

Bristol scored 15 tries in total with Kate Newton, Stoeger-Goddard, Nielson and Phoebe Murray sealing a bonus point inside 25 minutes.

The second half saw more tries from Nielson and Gregson, Hollie Cunningham and Rhi Parker with Carys Phillips also doting down twice in the second half.
