WRLA to hold Charity Rugby League 9s Tournament

  • +1

For the first time ever WRLA are introducing a women’s rugby league 9’s tournament to raise money for Mental Health Awareness.

The tournament will take place on 17 December and will be in memory of the young Wigan St Patricks’ player, Danielle Birchmore, who tragically took her own life on New Year’s Eve.

WRLA are hoping to encourage teams to take part in order to make the event a huge success and at the same time raise money for and awareness of Mental Health issues.

As long as players are registered with the RFL, teams from both winter and summer leagues are welcome to join in the fun.

There will be refreshments, raffles and a charity auction – as long as you all come it will be a great day!

If you would like to take part please do get in touch, either here via the website or contact WRLA Secretary Amanda Wigglesworth at wrlaladies@gmail.com.

Please do lend your support – it is a great cause.
