Women’s Rugby League Round Up 2 July 2017

On Sunday Leigh Miners Rangers Ladies hosted Batley Bulldogs and the home side impressed with a 42-4 win.

Leigh’s Rhian Boag and Dawn Eaton both scored two tries each, and there were further tries for Rachel Ogden, Clare Radford, Celia Farrimond and Detysha Harper. Dawn Eaton added five goals to her tally and scooped the player of the match award. Batley’s Evie Rilburn impressed with a try and a player of the match performance.

Castleford Tigers Ladies were at home to Featherstone Rovers and the away team raced to a 54-18 win.

Featherstone’s Kayleigh Bulman led the way with four tries, Emma Hardy and Sarah Dunn both scored twice, there were further tries for Brogan Churm, Sinead Peaxh, Jasmine Hazel and Emma Slowe. Emma Hardy added to her tally with three goals.

Castleford’s Georgie Hetherington scored twice and Shanelle Mannion scored once, Katie Hepworth kicked three goals.

In the Women’s Merit League Huddersfield St Josephs hosted York City Knights Ladies and there was nothing to separate the two sides at the final whistle, 18-18.

Also in the Merit League Whitley Bay Barbarians welcomed West Leeds Eagles and it was the travelling side who earned a 30-22 win.
