Three Wickets For Knight As England Women Beat India

  • +1

England captain Heather Knight returned from injury to take three wickets and Nat Sciver again impressed with the bat, making 69, as England defeated India by 141 runs in a warm-up fixture at Loughborough ahead of the ICC Women’s World Cup.

In a dress rehearsal for the first match of the tournament – to be played in front of a sell-out crowd at Derby – England batted first and made 244 all out from their 50 overs. Opener Lauren Winfield scored 50 before being run out and Sciver added 69. In reply, India were dismissed for 103.

The visitors started positively before they were becalmed by a flurry of wickets, with Alex Hartley impressive in picking up three wickets and two sharp catches before Knight added three wickets of her own to see England over the line.
