DMP Sharks seek Team Manager and Head Coach

In preparation for the new improved Women’s Rugby Super League that will replace the Premiership this coming autumn, Darlington Mowden Park Sharks are looking for a new Team Manager (part time) and Head Coach (full time).

DMP Sharks will be the sole representatives for the North East & Yorkshire in the new Women’s Rugby Super League and this is a great opportunity to join this progressive club at a crucial and exciting time in the development of the women’s game.

The successful candidate will be an experienced coach with a proactive attitude towards this new era of the game. He or she will place player welfare at the centre of their programme development and will be a proactive relationship manager.

The role will involve the remote management of satellite sites across the region which will incorporate rugby coaching, medical service and strength and conditioning.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Experienced UKCC Level 3 coach (essential)

Experience managing relationship with remote service providers (essential)

Experience working in a full time professional coaching environment (desirable)

Experience monitoring and evaluating individual development plans for a large squad (desirable)

Proactive in the use, interpretation and application of analytical information (including but not limited to, GPS and video analysis) (desirable)

RESPONSIBILITIES

To create an innovative and exciting Super League programme leading the talent pathway in the North East and England

To develop and foster strategic relationships to expand the Sharks network and enhance performance

To lead the coaching team responsible for the Sharks squad (1XV, Development and Junior Academy) including being the lead coach of the Super League team on match days and throughout the season.

To liaise with remote service providers including but not limited to medical professionals, strength and conditioning coaches and performance staff from partner institutions.

To work alongside home nation and international coaches to support the development of representative players.

Squad training and home matches will take place at our home, Mowden Park, The Northern Echo Arena. The Head Coach will liaise and foster relationships with Mowden Park staff and the Director of Rugby who will dedicate one third of their time to supporting the Women’s programme.

The current squad is made up of dedicated players from across the North of England; including players from Tyne & Wear, Co Durham, Teesside and Yorkshire. The successful candidate will create, monitor and evaluate individual development programmes (IDPs) for all 1XV players while having oversight of IDPs of Development Team and Junior Academy players.

The Head Coach will lead a coaching team and will be appointed by and report directly to the DMP Sharks management committee and Mowden Park Director of Rugby.
