  • +1

Brighouse Town came out victorious against Long Eaton United thanks to a stoppage time winner by Jodie Redgrave in the SSE Women’s FA Cup game at Grange Park.

The striker scored all four goals in the 4-3 win, putting the side 2-0 up in the first 20 minutes of the match but Long Eaton fought back and took a 3-2 lead in the second half.

Redgrave scored her third midway through the second half to level things and in injury time found the winner to put Brighouse through to the third round where they will face Everton.

The second round of the competition saw a number of upsets with Derby County beating Sheffield United 3-2 in extra time with Camilla Newton scoring the winner and FA WPL Northern Division One side Liverpool Marshall Feds came out 1-0 winners over Newcastle United of the Northern Premier.

Cristina Vega, Geovana Alves and Justine Lorton found the back of the net as Keynsham Town were surprise 3-1 winners over C&K Basildon and the result sees them face Durham.

Leicester City beat Middlesbrough 2-1 in extra-time and Kit Graham scored a hat-trick for Charlton Athletic in their 5-0 win over Portsmouth.

Hazzana Parnell scored a brace as she celebrated re-signing for West Bromwich Albion as they came out 4-0 winners over Radcliffe Olympic and Blackburn overcame Hull City 5-0, which included an impressive free-kick from Ella Toone.

Cambridge have conceded just one goal in the SSE Women’s FA Cup this season as they kept a clean sheet in their 4-0 win over Southampton and Nottingham Forest beat Wolves by the same scoreline.

There were also wins for Coventry, Tottenham, AFC Wimbledon and Lewes over MK Dons, Gillingham, Plymouth and Cardiff respectively.
