Rio 2016 Olympians Ben Fletcher and Natalie Powell are among the international judoka putting on a Team Bath Masterclass this week to help fund surgery for University of Bath student Jemima Duxberry.

Fletcher – a sporting ambassador for MJ Church – will return to his home dojo at the Sports Training Village to provide a fun judo session for under-16s alongside fellow GB international Powell from 6.45pm to 8.15pm on Thursday [September 22].
They will then be joined by Emmanuel Nartey, who fought at London 2012, and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth champion Megan Fletcher among others for an open randori session from 8.15pm to 9.45pm.
There is a minimum donation of £5 per person per session to take part and all money raised will be donated to Sports Performance student Duxberry, who ruptured her knee ligaments while representing Great Britain in the final of the European University Games in July.
A shortfall in insurance cover means the Team Bath Dual Career athlete needs to find an additional £3,000 to pay for surgery, with the aim of being back to full fitness as early as possible in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic cycle.
A medicine ball throwing challenge organised by strength and conditioning coach Luke Vella at the recent opening of the extensively-refurbished Team Bath Gym raised more than £100 towards Duxberry’s surgery.
