Chelsea keep the pressure on Manchester City Women

  • +1

Yesterday evening Liverpool Ladies played out a 0-0 draw with Manchester City which prevented City from going into the mid-season break having won all their games.  In the other match Chelsea came from behind to beat a determined Sunderland side by 2-1 an injury to Claire Rafferty taking the gloss off the win.

The two sides have put a gap between themselves and the chasing pack in what has been a very stop start beginning to the 2016 season.

Newly promoted Doncaster Belles are languishing at the bottom of WSL1, but closer inspection reveals that they have played just 3 games, 4 less than the leaders.  Arsenal meanwhile back in 5th place have played 5 games and if they win the 2 games in hand could pull themselves up to 3rd.

I hope the second half of the season has a little more fluency, which would I am sure be better for players and fans alike.

Meanwhile, in WSL2 Yeovil Town go into the break top of the table and will hope to stay there having stated that promotion is their aim this season.
