Cambridge United Women FC to play at Mildenhall Town FC

CUWFC Manager Steve Edwards has announced that the team will be playing home games at Mildenhall Town FC.

He said: “I am really pleased that the club has been able secure this move to Mildenhall Town FC. It shows a significant step forward for us in terms of facilities, playing surface and supporter base and falls in with all the ambitions we have as a club.”

“In comparison with our old home there is little difference in terms of travel time from Cambridge and when you consider the shortage of viable grounds that meet league criteria within the city, after review, it was deemed that Mildenhall would be our premier option and it is great that we have managed to reach an agreement beneficial for both parties.”

“It is time to begin a new chapter for the club and I look forward to getting started in our new home and making it a venue that is very difficult for opposition sides to come to and get a result.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Ely City FC on behalf of the whole club for the support they have given us over the last four years, we will always be grateful for that and the ground has seen some memorable games and results in that time.”

Cambridge United Women’s Reserve team will continue to play home games at Cambourne for the 2016/17 season.
