Jets look ahead to match against Lightning

  • +1

The second half of the Vitality Netball Superleague season begins for Yorkshire Jets this weekend with the team still looking for their first win.

Spirits have been higher though in the Jets camp this week after their impressive performance against Manchester Thunder last weekend when they were only narrowly beaten after leading through most of the game.

Improving consistency continues to be key for Head Coach Anna Carter and Captain Stacey Francis so they can close out games and get their first points of the season. They will be hoping to show even more progress this weekend as they travel to Loughborough Lighting on Saturday evening.

Lightning beat Jets on the opening day of the season but have lost their last two games so will also be looking for a win. This will also be the Midlands side first game without mid-courter Jade Clarke who has left the team mid-season to join ANZ Championship side Adelaide Thunderbirds

Anna Carter said: “Our performance against Thunder last weekend was a real step change for our season and I am delighted the hard work and effort everyone is putting in at training is now being reflected on court. It was particularly positive to show that to our home fans who have been unwavering in their support.

“We now face two games in a week on the road which is always a challenge but it’s one we are looking forward to and we’ll be looking to show that the second half of our season will be a big improvement on the first.”
