Bristol Ladies rugby players on International duty

It’s been a successful few days for some of Bristol Ladies on international duty.

Amy Wilson Hardy represented England in the first leg of the World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series, who finished third in the series.  England made it to the semi final where they came up against an in form Russia, a match England lost by 19-12 after a last gasp try sealed the victory for Russia after England had fought back from 12-0 down.  England achieved their third place by beating France in extra time 10-5.

 Meanwhile Sydney Gregson, Poppy Leitch and Clara Neilson all played for England Academy (Development Squad) in a 2 game series against the Canadian Maple Leafs. Poppy scored twice in the first leg. England won both fixtures and in both games fought back in close matches to take the win.

Back in Dubai and in the International Invitational Open a GB Select side, featuring Bristol’s Abbie Brown (photo above), took home the trophy and Wales (with Bethan Dainton) took home the plate.
