Pre-season Roses clash as Jets welcome Thunder

  • +1

Yorkshire Jets are to face a Roses clash as part of their pre-season preparation by welcoming trans-Pennine rivals Manchester Thunder in December.

Huddersfield’s new Leisure Centre will host the game on Saturday 12 December with the centre pass at 12.30pm.

It’s the second pre-season game which Jets are hosting in the town – they place their first, against Team Northumbria, this Saturday (14 November) at the University.

Jets and Thunder have both seen significant changes to their teams since the end of last season, with Stacey Francis and Sophie Halpin joining Jets and Natalie Haythornthwaite moving across the Pennines to Thunder under their new head coach Dan Ryan.

Tickets are one sale for the clash priced at £10 for adults and £6 for concessions. They include a warm up game between Jets and Thunder’s NPL teams from 10.30am and are available here.

Yorkshire Jets Head Coach Anna Carter said: “Games between Yorkshire Jets and Manchester Thunder are always closely contested, exciting affairs and we’re pleased to be able to bring the Roses clash to Huddersfield – our second pre-season game to be held in the town.

“Both our teams have significant changes from last season so it will be a great opportunity for supporters from both sides of the Pennines to see the 2015 Superleague semi-finalists in action ahead of the 2016 campaign.”
