Wing-defence Brownie will be vice-captain of the Scottish Thistles when they compete in Sydney, Australia from 7-16 August.

Centre Jones – who, like Brownie, has just completed her debut season at the Sports Training Village – had her place in the Wales squad confirmed on Tuesday morning.

Scotland’s first match at the Netball World Cup will be against England, meaning Brownie could face Team Bath Netball colleague Stacey Francis. Stacey was named in the England squad last week along with seven former Team Bath players. Before that they will meet England for a Netball World Cup warm-up game on 6 July at Sport Central, Northumbria, (7pm).

Jones and Francis will also meet next week when Wales face England in a second Netball World Cup warm-up game. This one is taking place at Merthyr Leisure Centre on Wednesday, 8 July  (7pm).
