Doncaster Rovers Belles are delighted to announce the signing of former Yeovil Town Ladies and Bristol Academy defender Jade Lorton-Radburn.
Lorton-Radburn, who was part of the Yeovil Town Ladies squad last season, joins the Belles as Glen Harris looks to add some depth to his squad as they push for promotion.
The defender, who can also play in midfield or in a holding role, started her career at Leicester City before moving to Blackburn Rovers in 2009. Later that year she moved to Lincoln Ladies, where a string of impressive performances caught the eye of top tier sides. After a brief spell at Keynsham Town, Lorton-Radburn was part of Bristol Academy’s inaugural FA WSL squad in 2011, whilst being part of their UEFA Women’s Champions League Squad.
After a move back to Leicester in 2012, Lorton-Radburn joined Yeovil Town and spent a number of successful seasons at the Lady Glovers. She was also part of the 2009 Great Britain squad that won bronze medal at the World University Games.
Head Coach, Glen Harris, was pleased to have secured the services of Lorton Radburn: “We’re delighted to have Jade here. She brings strength and power, and there’s been a couple of times we’ve mentioned that we might have been outmuscled in games and maybe missed that bit of physical presence she can bring. She’s got a great attitude and is a great trainer, which will hopefully encourage others to push on.”
“She can cover a multitude of positions, such as centre half and midfield, and she loves to push forward. She’s great at set pieces and striking the ball, so she does bring a lot to the team.”
