Sarah Wiltshire rejoins Yeovil Town Ladies from Manchester City

The Lady Glovers top goalscorer from the 2014 WSL season, Sarah Wiltshire, has rejoined Yeovil following her move in March to Manchester City Women.

Wiltshire, who became a fans favourite at The Jones Stadium, rejoins the club which saw her net 10 goals in 11 games last season, including a hatrick against Oxford Utd in August, when she was literally unstoppable.

Also a Welsh international with over 30 caps for her country, Wiltshire will bring an even more attacking threat to the Yeovil side, who have already scored 21 goals in 9 games, with the team now sitting third in the WSL2 in their mid-season break.

Manager Jamie Sherwood is positive that Wiltshire can have a similar impact to that of last season and said “I have worked with Sarah at two separate clubs and both times she has proved a very potent threat to the opposition and has scored goals and I have no doubt she will be able to repeat that back at Yeovil.”

“She has been playing and training with one of the best clubs in the country and with some of WSL’s brightest talents day in day out so I believe Sarah will be a better player technically, tactically and physically. This is a good signing and yet another sign that we are driving ourselves on to achieve the targets set out by us in January 2015.”

Wiltshire, who will wear the number 7 shirt, will now be available for selection for Yeovil’s next game on 12th July against former WSL1 team Everton Ladies.

Speaking about her move back to Yeovil Wiltshire said “I am looking forward to being back at Yeovil again, they are a club with a lot of ambition and I enjoyed my time there last year.”

“Hopefully I can help them build on the good start to the first half of season that they have had.  Jamie knows how to get the best out of players and has put a strong squad together who are competing at the top of the table. He is a good coach so it will be good to be back working with him.”

Steve Allinson, Yeovil Town Ladies Chairman also commented by saying “It is very exciting news that Sarah is returning to us for the second half of the season and I believe it shows our ambition and commitment continually to seek to improve our standards and develop as a club.”
