After announcing that they had parted company with national head coach Anna Mayes this morning, England Netball went on to announce that Tracey Neville has been placed in interim charge of the England team and will lead the squad to the Netball World Cup this summer.

England Netball placed on record its thanks to Anna for her hard work in progressing the national side and wished her well for the future.

England Netball CEO Joanna Adams said “I would like to thank Anna for her time in charge of the England squad.”

Speaking of Neville’s appointment, Adams added “Tracey has a proven track record both in her playing and coaching career. She has achieved fantastic results with Manchester Thunder in the Netball Superleague and we firmly believe Tracey is the right person to lead us into the 2015 Netball World Cup.”

Tracey Neville said “I’m delighted to accept this opportunity, it’s a great challenge and I am looking forward to the World Cup and working with the players.”

We wait to hear whether, for the time being, Neville will continue her role with Manchester Thunder or if she will step down.
