Marks Sampson picks squad to face USA

Mark Sampson has recalled Anita Assante and Katie Chapman to his squad of 23 players to face the USA in a pre-World Cup friendly on Friday 13 February at stadium:mk.  USA have won the World Cup twice so it will be a good challenge and a chance to see how far the team have progressed since playing Germany at Wembley on 23 November.

Assante, who plays her football for Malmö in Sweden, has Asante has represented England 70 times, the last occasion coming against in last year’s Cyprus Cup.  While Chelsea midfielder Chapman, who has earned 82 caps, last played for England in September 2010, in a World Cup play-off in Switzerland.
Toni Duggan and Lucy Bronze are both out of the side through injury and with the retirement of Kelly Smith from international duty Mark Sampson has the opportunity to try out a few different players.
