The soap showdown netball match between Coronation Street and Emmerdale has sold out for a second year.
The Text Santa charity event will bring cast members from the rival soaps together for a netball match later this month.
Katy Cavanagh will captain the Corrie side with cast mates Brooke Vincent, Tisha Merry, Jane Danson and Hayley Tamaddon joining her on court.
Team Emmerdale’s Charley Webb will lead her side, with Michelle Hardwick, Sammy Winward, Amy Walsh and Eden Taylor-Draper also taking part. Emmerdale star Danny Miller (Aaron Livesy) from Emmerdale has signed up to be the MC on the day and will be assisted by cast-mate Adam Thomas (Adam Barton).
The cast will be joined by crew from their respective soap and also players from Superleague teams Manchester Thunder (Corrie) and Yorkshire Jets (Emmerdale).
The Superleague teams have been working hard in training with the cast members in a bid to get them match-ready for the game on Saturday, November 22.
ITV’s annual telethon Text Santa raises cash for Teenage Cancer Trust & Alzheimer’s Society and the vent is sponsored by office technology supplier Midshire. Julian Stafford, from Midshire, said: “It gives us great pleasure to sponsor the charity Soap Showdown netball match for a second year running. We’ve supported Thunder for over ten years and they do a fantastic job of raising awareness for female sports.”
“This is another brilliant way to draw attention to netball whilst raising money for such worthwhile causes. We wish both teams the best of luck.”
The inaugural Soap Showdown match between Corrie and their soapland rivals took place in September 2013, when the Weatherfield team were victorious 33-28.
